Cailtin Cornell

Caitlin Cornell, Assistant Director of the Center for Language Teaching Advancement, is also a Ph.D. candidate in MSU’s Second Language Studies Program. In 2009, she earned an M.A. in Linguistics with a specialization in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has taught English language courses in both the U.S. and abroad since 2005, including two U.S. State Department English Language Fellowships in Beirut, Lebanon. Her primary research interests fall into the broad category of accessible teaching and learning, and she is particularly interested in accessible teaching and learning within second and foreign language learning contexts. At MSU she has taught undergraduate language teaching methodology courses and in 2020 she developed and taught a short course on race, language, and disability.
