Who, What, and When:
As of May 2025, the Center for Language Teaching Advancement and The English Language Center swapped physical office spaces. Both units are still housed in Wells Hall: the ELC is now in the first floor office suite, and CeLTA personnel offices are on the second floor.
Why:
Over the course of strategic planning, the units individually discovered that their needs and missions were mismatched with their physical spaces (e.g., the ELC has greater need of easy-to-find access from the street for their in-person programming than CeLTA does considering CeLTA’s shift to more nationally focused language teaching support endeavors which necessarily require more remote engagement). In collaborative discussions, the units realized that their needs would be mutually improved by exchanging spaces for the benefit of our immediate community of faculty and students.
