Who, What, and When:

The Center for Language Teaching Advancement and The English Language Center (both housed in Wells Hall) will be swapping physical office spaces spring and summer 2025.

Why:

Over the course of strategic planning, the units individually discovered that their needs and missions were mismatched with their physical spaces (e.g., the ELC has greater need of easy-to-find access from the street for their in-person programming  than CeLTA does considering CeLTA’s shift to more nationally focused language teaching support endeavors which necessarily require more remote engagement). In collaborative discussions, the units realized that their needs would be mutually improved by exchanging spaces for the benefit of our immediate community of faculty and students.

How:

Caitlin Cornell and Dustin De Felice will facilitate the move while Felix Kronenberg is on sabbatical Spring 2025.

Each center’s operations will remain largely unaffected until the acute stages of the move when systems and keys are turned over (e.g., reservation approvals will shift from one unit to the other, but the system itself will not change, at least for a time and only with warning).
