Opportunities for Language Educators in the Community

CeLTA offers various opportunities for K-16 language educators throughout Michigan to stay up-to-date on best practices in language teaching and to apply and advance their language skills.

Teacher Immersion Workshops

The CeLTA Language School teacher immersion workshops focus on teaching methodology, cultural content, resources for teaching, practicing the target language, and networking. Topics have included music, teaching with technology, multicultural societies, communicative language teaching, implementing literature in the language classroom, teaching culture, and translation.

CeLTA PD and Lunch & Learn Series

We offer workshops for educators of all languages and levels that allow them to gain deeper insights into ongoing trends in teaching methodology and to exchange resources and ideas in an engaging atmosphere. Join us for these informative events throughout the semester. All PD events meet in B135 Wells Hall unless noted otherwise.

In addition to our Professional Development Series, we offer a bi-weekly Lunch & Learn Series. Every other Wednesday, CeLTA and the English Language Center (ELC) host an informal Lunch & Learn where we discuss topics related to language learning and technology. Join us for pizza and conversation.

Language Classes for Adults

Are you as a language teacher looking for an extra opportunity to practice your communicative skills with other experienced language instructors? CeLTA's Language Classes for Adults might be just the thing you are looking for.
